The organization projects its vision for the future while honoring its community and unveiling a year-long agenda of activities throughout 2025
The Puerto Rico Hotel and Tourism Association (PRHTA) kicked off its 75th anniversary celebrations with a special ceremony featuring the sealing of a time capsule. This symbolic gesture aims to preserve a representative sample of today’s tourism industry to be rediscovered in the year 2050, when the organization celebrates its centennial.
The event took place at the Royal Sonesta San Juan in Isla Verde and gathered members, collaborators, and industry allies, who contributed items of historical and emotional value such as photographs, letters, and business memorabilia.
“Puerto Rico should not only be a destination, but an experience. A place where visitors not only feel welcome but deeply connected,” said Raúl Bustamante, Chairman of the PRHTA Board of Directors, during his speech.
Additionally, a tribute was paid to Clarisa Jiménez, PRHTA President, for her 20 years of leadership at the helm of the organization. Bustamante highlighted that her vision and commitment have been fundamental in strengthening and promoting Puerto Rican tourism.
The capsule will travel to several commemorative activities throughout the year before being stored at PRHTA headquarters, where it will remain sealed until 2050. These events not only celebrate the organization’s past but also reinforce its mission for the future.
